In 2020, I was reading a ton during the COVID shutdown. I started my Bookstagram account in July 2020, right in the middle of the chaos, in an attempt to avoid dying of boredom. Bookstagram has become my favorite corner of the internet, my creative outlet, and a passion project of mine.

A few things about me:
*  I’m 27 and I live in Greenville, SC!
* I’m currently planning my wedding to my wonderful fiancé (November 2026) <3
* My entire life, I’ve loved to read. My dad is an English professor and I grew up literally surrounded by books
* I work as a media buyer at an advertising agency and I love my job!
* I love clothes, shoes, accessories, and home decor, especially colorful options
* My favorite genre is literary fiction, but I also enjoy thrillers!

Bookmarked by Erin is a space for me to share my love for all things reading with a side of fashion and home decor. Thank you for being here, and I hope you stick around!
Several weeks ago, I asked the internet about thei Several weeks ago, I asked the internet about their favorite “rich people behaving badly” books. Personally, it’s one of my favorite genres/tropes (tied with campus novels, which I’ll also be dedicating an entire post to). Full of drama and strong character development, these books offer a glimpse into a world I’ve never been part of. The richer and more badly behaved, the better.

In my post, I asked for more recommendations from this genre, and the responses did NOT disappoint. I rounded up all the responses and threw in some of my personal recommendations, and curated a list of 23 books that I think fit this trope perfectly.

• The God of the Woods
• Big Little Lies
• The Privileges
• Brideshead Revisited
• These Summer Storms
• Pineapple Street
• The Paradise Problem
• Culpability
• Bad Summer People
• Malibu Rising
• The Only One Left
• Good Rich People
• Seating Arrangements
• The Perfect Couple
• Retreat
• Long Island Compromise
• We Were Liars
• The Great Gatsby
• Very Bad Company
• Park Avenue
• The Social Climber

Unfortunately These Summer Storms was not a hit for our group. The writing felt clunky and the characters fell flat. The premise is intriguing and I love the “rich people behaving badly” trope, but the execution just wasn’t there. BUT…even when we all dislike the book (aka this month’s book), the convo is always flowing, and the other girls bring such funny and insightful thoughts!

Currently reading too many books lol

I’m reading These Summer Storms for book club (it was my turn to pick the book this month and sadly I am not loving the book so far 😬) AND Project Hail Mary (attempting to finish before seeing the movie on Friday) AND Throne of Glass.

I’ve been reading a lot this week, but I’ve been in a major reading slump for close to a month now. It’s super disappointing because the first few books I read this year were so amazing. Fingers crossed it’ll pick back up soon 🤞🏻

Told through alternating POVs, The Encore follows Lottie, Anna, and Will during transformative periods in their lives. All three are wildly talented musicians on wildly different paths. Although their lives are different, they are connected in ways they could have never imagined, and the discovery of these connections leads them on quite the journey. They embark on a cross-country tour and are forced to reconcile with their past choices.

What I loved:
• The NYC setting
• The fashion designer uncle/father figure
• I learned a LOT about music (as someone who knows next to nothing about music this was very cool to learn about)
• I appreciated how delicately the author handled heavy topics

What I didn’t love:
• I was not a huge fan of the big choice Anna made (this choice basically drove the plot of the whole book). I wished it had played out differently, and I had a hard time accepting why she did it. But after more was revealed about her past, I came to understand and respect her decision

Thank you so much for the ARC, @unionsqandco!
