Yesteryear is E V E R Y W H E R E. It was published just over a month ago and already has a whopping 336,00+ ratings on Goodreads 🤯

I enjoyed the influencer aspect, the farm, and the twist at the end. I didn’t care for Natalie or her husband, but that was obviously not supposed to be the case. This book touches on a variety of timely topics, but in my opinion, it didn’t spend enough time on any single topic to offer meaningful commentary. It’s leaning on a flashy and (admittedly) intriguing premise, but it doesn’t deliver anything deeper than surface-level shock.

Overall, I found it to be highly entertaining, but nothing groundbreaking. The whole time I was reading, I kept thinking about how this would be a GREAT book club pick. It’s also being made into a movie with Anne Hathaway, so if you’re planning to watch the adaptation, you may want to give the book a read first.

I’ve somehow never done an intro post after having this account for 5 years!

I've been an avid lifelong reader, but in 2020, I was reading more than usual during the COVID shutdown. I started my Bookstagram account in July, right in the middle of the chaos. It was my attempt to overcome the boredom and isolation everyone was feeling.

Over the years, Bookstagram has become my favorite corner of the internet: my creative outlet and a space for me to share the things I love.

A few things about me:
* I’m 27 and I live in Greenville, SC!
* I’m currently planning my wedding to my wonderful fiancé (November 2026) <3
* My entire life, I’ve loved to read. My dad is an English professor and I grew up literally surrounded by books
* I work as a media buyer at an advertising agency and I love my job!
* I love fashion and home decor, especially colorful/unique pieces
* My favorite genre is literary fiction, but I also enjoy thrillers!

Several weeks ago, I asked the internet about their favorite “rich people behaving badly” books. Personally, it’s one of my favorite genres/tropes (tied with campus novels, which I’ll also be dedicating an entire post to). Full of drama and strong character development, these books offer a glimpse into a world I’ve never been part of. The richer and more badly behaved, the better.

In my post, I asked for more recommendations from this genre, and the responses did NOT disappoint. I rounded up all the responses and threw in some of my personal recommendations, and curated a list of 23 books that I think fit this trope perfectly.

Here are some books that met my expectations, didn't meet my expectations, exceeded my expectations, and some that I'm really looking forward to reading!

I’m in a monthly book club, and our March pick was These Summer Storms 🌀

Unfortunately These Summer Storms was not a hit for our group. The writing felt clunky and the characters fell flat. The premise is intriguing and I love the “rich people behaving badly” trope, but the execution just wasn’t there. BUT…even when we all dislike the book (aka this month’s book), the convo is always flowing, and the other girls bring such funny and insightful thoughts!
